Janice Sued Agresti, Ivory Bishop, and Michael Fernández will speak at the Latin American Summit hosted by the New York City Bar Association.
Janice will moderate the “Cross-Border Movement and Regulation of Data, Trade, and Workforce” panel. Janice and the other panelists will discuss key legal and policy developments affecting cross-border commerce, digital governance, and labor mobility, highlighting areas of alignment and friction across jurisdictions. They will also share practical insights into compliance, risk management, and the evolving role of law in facilitating regional integration.
Ivory will speak on the “Mexico’s Compliance Frontier: New Rules, Real Risks, and Resilient Strategies” panel. Ivory and the other panelists will discuss Mexico’s judicial reform under President Sheinbaum and U.S. scrutiny of cross-border operations, particularly following the Trump administration’s executive order targeting cartels and transnational criminal organizations. They will explore how these parallel developments are reshaping compliance obligations for companies doing business in Mexico, and address emerging enforcement risks, anti-corruption trends, and strategies for navigating this increasingly complex legal terrain.
Michael will moderate the keynote lunch, featuring the Hon. Geronimo Gutierrez (Ret.), Covington & Burling LLP, and the Hon. Julissa Reynoso (Ret.), Winston & Strawn LLP.
