Abigail Horvat, an associate of Cozen O'Connor's Global Insurance Department, has been appointed to two committee leadership positions within the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) for the 2025–2026 year. Abigail will serve as the vice-chair of the Self-Insurers and Risk Managers General Committee and social media vice-chair of the Excess Surplus Lines and Reinsurance General Committee.
These appointments reflect Abigail's outstanding leadership abilities, commitment to the legal profession, and contributions to the ABA TIPS Section. During her one-year term, she will have the opportunity to collaborate with legal professionals from across the country, engage in nationally recognized CLE programs, publish in ABA publications, and participate in planning activities that support professional development, ethics, workplace culture, and public service. These committee roles also offer valuable opportunities for networking, business development, and staying at the forefront of emerging issues in the insurance and legal industries.
Abigail represents international and domestic insurers in complex insurance coverage matters, arbitration and litigation involving directors & officers liability, employment practices liability, professional liability and commercial general liability claims. Abigail handles coverage litigation in state and federal courts across the country. She also assists commercial carriers in responding to first-party and third-party cyber insurance claims involving ransomware, fraudulent transfers, and social engineering, as well as overseeing vendor retention for appropriate breach notification and response efforts. She regularly presents on the impact of artificial intelligence and other technological resources on professional industries.
