CHICAGO, April 21, 2025 — Cozen O’Connor attorney Christopher S. Hennessy, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Commercial Litigation Department, has been named to the 2025 list of Crain’s Chicago Business “Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys.”

This special recognition highlights the accomplishments of Chicago’s top litigators and trial attorneys in the “complex, high stakes world of litigation” and “headline-making courtroom battles.” Hennessy was selected by the Crain’s Chicago Business editorial staff for his high-profile litigation victories as well as his commitment to pro bono work and community engagement.

He is profiled in a special April 21 section of Crain’s Chicago Business in both print and online editions, accessible via the link here

Hennessy is one of Cozen O’Connor’s top litigators with nearly 30 years of experience in trials, court proceedings, and arbitrations representing marquee clients in all manner of disputes. He has successfully represented clients in multi-million-dollar cases over multiple jurisdictions across the country.

Working out of the Chicago office, Hennessy is highly-respected for creative, bold, and proactive approaches in helping clients stay out of the courtroom whenever possible. When litigation becomes necessary, he is similarly regarded for well-preparing his clients for the prosecution of their rights or for the defense of their conduct.

Hennessy is a past co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Employment and Labor Relations Law Newsletter Committee. He is also an accomplished author contributing to publications in the areas of Illinois construction law and employment litigation.

In addition, Hennessy mentors young attorneys through the Cozen O’Connor Trial Academy and provides pro-bono legal support to the National Immigration Justice Center (NIJC), working on immigration asylum cases.

Outside the office, Hennessy is similarly committed to the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) and has served as President of their Board of Directors. He is also a past President of the Board of Directors of The People’s Music School in Uptown.

He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in communications and received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 1996.
