Tuesday, April 29, 2025

Maureen P. Holland, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Institutional Response Group, has been appointed co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s LGBTQ+ Rights Committee. In this role, Maureen will collaborate with fellow leaders to advocate for the legal rights of the LGBTQ+ community, monitor developments in LGBTQ+ law, and promote inclusivity within the legal profession.

Holland’s practice is focused on helping educational institutions improve policies, procedures, and systems for preventing and addressing discrimination, harassment, and interpersonal harm, including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, sex- and gender-based harassment, identity-based discrimination and harassment, hazing, retaliation and other forms of conduct prohibited by Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, the Clery Act (as amended by the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act), and related federal and state laws. She has served in interim leadership positions at institutions such as Baylor University and Amherst College, assisting in the development of policies and procedures to address discrimination and harassment. Additionally, she has been recognized as one of the LGBT Bar’s Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40 and was named an “Unsung Hero” by The Legal Intelligencer in 2024 for her behind-the-scenes leadership.

About The Philadelphia Bar Association’s LGBTQ+ Rights Committee
