NEW YORK, May 28, 2025 — Michael Fernández, a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department, has been elected to serve as secretary of the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA) board of directors. The mission of the NYCBA is to equip and mobilize a diverse legal profession to practice with excellence, advocate for legal reform, and uphold the rule of law and access to justice in support of a fair society and the public interest. As secretary, Michael will record the proceedings of all regular and special meetings of the Association, oversee the mailing of notices of all meetings, and assist the Chair as needed.
Michael focuses on representing international and domestic clients in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, international arbitrations, and regulatory compliance matters. He is experienced in issues concerning complex jurisdictional issues and cross-border discovery matters. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Michael has experience representing foreign and domestic companies and individuals in matters covering a broad range of industries, including cryptocurrency, commodities, construction and real estate, food and beverage, gaming, financial services, moving and storage, and oil and gas.
