Proposed Transfer of Regulatory Authority over Deepwater Ports from Coast Guard to MARAD is Ill-advised [Marine Link]

This bill includes a provision that would shift the lead agency role in reviewing deepwater port license applications from the U.S. Coast Guard to the Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD).
