Jose Bustillos

Associate

Jose L. Bustillos focuses his practice on strategic risk management, complex litigation, and regulatory compliance. He represents clients in a wide range of civil disputes, including general liability, New York Labor Law, construction defects, and personal injury claims. His clients include insurers, property owners, developers, general contractors, trade subcontractors, and municipal entities. He also has experience defending hospitals and health care professionals in medical malpractice actions.

Fluent in Spanish, Jose advises clients in Latin America on internal investigations, U.S. regulatory developments, as well as other matters involving cross-border exposure.

Jose earned his undergraduate degree in economics and history from the University of Oregon and his J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School, where he received the Public Interest Law Project Award for his leadership in fundraising initiatives. During law school, he clerked for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and for Metro Regional Government in Portland, Oregon, gaining firsthand experience in public-sector litigation and regulatory enforcement.
