Dawn Kurtz "DK" Crompton brings deep experience in regulatory compliance, energy law, and complex litigation. With experience spanning industry, government, and private practice, she is known for her ability to build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups and deliver innovative solutions to emerging challenges. As a litigator, Dawn has managed all phases of litigation in state and federal courts, including the Delaware Court of Chancery.
	Most recently, Dawn served as in-house energy and utility regulatory counsel for multiple jurisdictions with one of the nation’s largest utility companies, advising on regulatory risk, grid modernization, transmission development, and interconnection.  As part of her tenure with the utility, Dawn also served in a business role bridging her legal experience to operationalize state and federal energy programs through strategic execution of electric and gas operations. Her prior experience in private practice includes litigation roles at national, full-service law firms and a boutique Delaware corporate firm, where she handled matters involving corporate governance, litigation of corporate and commercial disputes including non-competes, white collar defense and regulatory investigations, wrongful death actions, and complex eDiscovery dispute resolution. To deepen her policy expertise after law school, Dawn pursued a master’s degree focused on renewable energy policy while simultaneously clerking in the Office of the Chief Legal Counsel under Delaware Governor Jack Markell, where she advised on pardons, commutations, and legislative matters.
	Dawn is active in the Delaware legal community and volunteers with the Office of Child Advocate as a pro bono counsel for children in foster care. When she's not working, Dawn enjoys travel, cooking, and wine and is a certified sommelier. She earned her J.D., cum laude, with pro bono distinction and a certificate in environmental law from Delaware Law School, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Widener Law Review. She also holds a master’s degree in marine policy from the University of Delaware and a B.S. in public relations from Boston University.
