John concentrates his practice on insurance coverage matters. Clients rely on him to analyze primary and excess insurance policies, and to represent them in all stages of litigation in both state and federal courts.
Before joining Cozen O’Connor, John was an associate at a New York City boutique firm, where he represented insurers in a range of insurance coverage disputes, including matters involving environmental pollution, PFAS, and asbestos claims. Prior to that, he served as in-house counsel for a multinational energy corporation based in Seoul, South Korea. There, he reviewed, drafted, and negotiated a variety of commercial contracts—such as joint venture agreements, technology license agreements, sales and purchase contracts, and employment contracts—while also managing litigation across Europe and the United States.
John earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. from the City University of New York (Hunter College). Following law school, he served for two years as a law clerk to the Honorable Marybeth Rogers of the Superior Court of New Jersey, where he drafted opinions in civil matters involving commercial contracts, employment, real estate, and torts; mediated and settled cases; and managed civil motion practice, including dispositive motions.
