James Polk is an associate in the Global Insurance Department who focuses his practice on insurance coverage matters, insurance coverage litigation, bad faith litigation, state and federal appellate cases, and commercial litigation.
Before joining Cozen O'Connor, James was a coverage and appellate associate for a prominent, Texas-based litigation firm, where he was previously a summer associate. He was also a summer associate for a full-service firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. Additionally, James worked as a judicial intern for a judge on the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, and was a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
James earned his J.D. in 2023 from Tulane University Law School, where he was a Managing Editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law and received the Pro Bono Achievement Award. In 2019, James graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy.
