Evan Schweitzer

Associate

Evan concentrates his practice on insurance matters, including general liability, catastrophic injury, maritime, premises liability, and products liability. He also represents insurance carriers in various insurance coverage disputes.

In maritime matters, Evan has experience defending claims involving personal injury, property damage, Jones Act claims, maintenance and cure claims, breach of the warranty of seaworthiness claims, breach of the warranty of payment to the end of the voyage claims, Shipowner’s Limitation of Liability Act claims, marina claims, marine insurance, and claims under General Maritime law.

In premises liability matters, Evan has experience representing property owners in cases involving alleged dangerous conditions on commercial and residential properties, as well as those arising from alleged inadequate security and building code violations.

He has also successfully defended commercial loss, property damage, breach of warranty, and personal injury cases involving consumer goods and motor vehicles.

Evan earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Pepperdine University's Caruso School of Law. During law school, he served as a certified law clerk for several units within the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, including the Major Crimes Division and Cold Case Unit.
