Kathy represents a wide range of loan servicers, including portfolio loan servicers and primary and sub-servicers of securitized loans. She advises servicers on a full range of consent requests, including loan assumptions, transfers of ownership, easements, leases, condemnations, partial releases, collateral modifications, and loan modifications. Kathy has sophisticated knowledge and experience in reviewing, managing, negotiating, and documenting borrower consent requests related to portfolio, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac loans.
Kathy also represents lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions involving multifamily properties, primarily focusing on lenders who originate and sell loans secured by multifamily projects to secondary market investors Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. She has extensive experience acting as lender’s counsel, preparing and negotiating loan documents, reviewing legal opinions, and analyzing due diligence items such as entity organizational documents, trust documents, and regulatory agreements. Kathy is adept at identifying and resolving title and survey issues, negotiating title insurance coverage, and collaborating with borrowers and title companies to facilitate smooth closings.
Kathy joined the firm along with her colleagues from Moss & Barnett in 2026. Before entering private practice, Kathy clerked for the Honorable David E. Christensen and the Honorable Timothy K. Connell in southwest Minnesota (Pipestone County and Rock County). She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and her B.A. in philosophy and speech communications from the University of Washington.
