Am Law 100 Firm Cozen O’Connor Finalizes its Merger with Minneapolis-based Moss & Barnett

Cozen O’Connor has completed its acquisition by merger of Moss & Barnett, one of Minnesota’s leading law firms, adding more than 50 attorneys and bringing the overall roster to over 1,000 attorneys.

Leah concentrates her practice on real estate law. With the ultimate goal of ensuring a smooth closing, Leah advises and advocates for clients through all stages of general real estate and commercial real estate finance transactions. Leah has extensive experience representing commercial real estate owners and developers in areas of acquisitions, sales, development, and financing matters. She also represents both commercial and residential landlords and tenants throughout the leasing process, including negotiating, drafting, and amending leases.

Leah joined Cozen O'Connor's real estate practice along with her colleagues from Moss & Barnett in 2026. In her real estate finance practice, Leah represents lenders in commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, refinances, construction/development, swaps and assumptions. She works in all aspects of real estate finance transactions, including drafting and negotiating loan documents, reviewing legal due diligence and negotiating title insurance coverage. Leah also has extensive experience examining real property title, survey, and title insurance matters to avoid or mitigate title issues, as well as facilitate title clean up.

In her previous experience, Leah also maintained an employment law practice, where she helped employers of all sizes navigate legislating updates, prepare employee handbooks, negotiate separation agreements, mitigate risk, and understand their rights and obligations.

Outside of private practice, Leah’s background includes work in public policy, mental health and crisis intervention, harm reduction, public health, and early childhood education. Her diverse experience has allowed her opportunities to present at CLEs, speak to law school classes, mentor women law students, and testify in front of legislative committees.

Leah earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was a Robina Public Interest Scholar and a Saeks Public Interest Fellow. During law school, Leah was a certified student attorney with the Community Legal Partnership for Health Clinic and a law clerk with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid. She earned her B.A., with distinction, from the University of Iowa.
