Jodi advises businesses in the areas of real estate, corporate law, and labor and employment law. Having worked for many years as corporate counsel, she recognizes the importance of integrating legal advice with the client’s overall business objectives. Timely communication, teamwork, and practical legal solutions are hallmarks of Jodi's service delivery.
Jodi has over 28 years of experience as a commercial real estate lawyer. Her principal areas of real estate practice include commercial real estate development and leasing, joint venture projects (inclusive of managing and developing all joint venture documents and all ground up real estate documents), commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, real estate finance, commercial and corporate law related to all of the same, as well as zoning and land use.
Jodi is a trusted adviser to developers, owners, landlords, tenants, and contractors in the purchase, sale, leasing, development, and financing of commercial real estate locally and across the nation. She has significant leasing and development experience, and has led, directed, coordinated, managed, and completed countless complex joint venture projects from land acquisition through development and leasing. She leverages her vast experiences developed both from her real estate and general corporate practice to offer valuable insights, options, and unique solutions for every project for her clients.
Additionally, Jodi serves as outside general counsel to clients, facilitating business solutions and risk management consistent with each client’s overall business goals.
Throughout her career, Jodi has also practiced employment law, advising clients on discrimination, wrongful termination, wage disputes, non-compete agreements, harassment, and executive compensation. She also guides employers on risk mitigation strategies, including hiring, termination, leave requests, employment contracts, employee handbooks, labor compliance, and management training.
Jodi joined Cozen O'Connor in 2026 along with her colleagues from Moss & Barnett. She earned her B.S. from St. Cloud State University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. Outside of work, Jodi enjoys being involved in her children’s sports communities, spending time with family and friends, exercising, decorating, and reading.
